Gift
GiftAfter rain and lightning storms we pushed up to Nub peak for the second time in hope of a clear view. This is what we were gifted for not packing it in and hiking out. Well worth it. :)
Pushing the Soul
Pushing the SoulMarta had decided that she would not do the Alpine circuit at Lake O'Hara yet we found our selves pushing up to All Souls prospect (a section of the circ). She says it's the scariest thing she has ever done, I think the view from the top was well worth stretching the boundaries of her comfort zone! We had incredible weather while we were there and I am now sorting through the piles of images soon to be released.

Esto es amor
Esto es amorHiking for days with your love will bring the true colours of the relation into full bloom; shining through the rain, snow and cold making us stronger and locking these memories and vistas in our hearts forever. Together in the spray of Emperor Falls below the king of the Rockies - Mount Robson Provincial Park, BC.
Cloud Adventure
Cloud AdventureVisibility was on and off on the Siete Picos trail near Madrid. We experienced mix weather giving the day a "out of this world" feel.
The truth
The truthI can't play guitar and I certainly don't rock climb well but I am dam good at sitting around on bouldering mats looking at nature.
The season like no other
The season like no otherThis year Marta and I enjoyed more hiking than ever before, knocking down goals and enjoying every step of elevation gain. As the larches fade and the snow line moves for valley bottom I begin to re-live these experiences working through the images I am reminded of the awe-inspiring trails surrounding me in Canada. Harvey Pass, Banff NP.
Alpine Siesta
Alpine SiestaMarta showing her true Spanish colours, taking advantage of the beautiful still atmosphere to snatch a quick nap on the trail. Lake Oesa, Yoho NP.
The Grassi pilgramage
The Grassi pilgramageThe majority of the trails in the Lake O'hara region are built lovingly by University of Chicago botany professor George K. K. “Tommy” Link and Canmore coal miner Lawrence Grassi. The Alpine Circuit in particular is a show of trail building brilliance by Grassi. Can you spot Marta making her way across the Yukness Ledges? Yoho NP.
Don't pass the view
Don't pass the viewA beautiful day hiking up the pass. Wildflowers are at full power and the views are spectacular. Yes it was busy but definatly worth it!
Change of season
Change of seasonAfter a hot days climbing in Cougar Canyon a storm cloud rolls in over Lady Mac. The low Sun rays cut bellow the darkness to set parts of the sky in flames. There is little snow and the fast moving rain clouds are frequenting the valley at this time of year.
Swing Sisters
Swing SistersThe snow is melting as fast as it is falling in Canmore but it's still quite chilly for playing outside!

The Freezing Pond
The Freezing PondMarta enjoys a beautiful Sunset at Wedge Pond, Kananaskis. The Suns last rays touch the South peak of Mt Kidd with a warm glow while we are left on the snowy planet is the white fog.

Couple Sunset
Couple SunsetAfter being taken snow shoeing for the first time by my Aunt and Uncle along a ridge hike at Mt Feathertop we set up camp and enjoyed an Australian Alps Sunset. "Mount Feathertop is the second-highest  in the state of Victoria and is a member of the Australian Alps located entirely within the Alpine National Park. It rises to 1,922 metres (6,306 ft) and is usually covered in snow from June to September. Unlike many other Victorian mountains, Mount Feathertop has steep summit slopes instead of a rounded summit dome."Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Feathertop

Guise Bay
Guise BayOur second stop on the Cape Scott trail on the North of Vancouver Island. The water here has a beautiful tint and is calm enough to trick most hikers into attempting a quick dip. I can asure you, the water is uncomfortably cold! We pitched the tent in a drift wood fort (just because we can :) ) and enjoyed a day hike to the lighthouse under cloudless skies.
Caña time
Caña timeThe final approach to Refugi Son Amer after a long day of hiking in the rain. We managed to complete the trail with plenty of elevation gain and loss without any slips on the rocky mountain trails (silver lining I think).
