Gaztelugatxe
GaztelugatxeThe waves crash into the coast of Biscay in Basque Country (Spain) spraying my lens as I attempt to capture this stunning scene. On the left is the islet of "Gaztelugatxe" with a hermitage dedicated to John the Baptist named "San Juan de Gaztelugatxe” sitting at the highest point. On the right is a small neighbouring island called “Aketze”.

Timeless
TimelessAnother angle of Es Vedrà this time from Cala d'Hort at dusk. In 1855 following his exile from Barcelona friar Francisco Palau sought solitude on Es Vedrà in a row boat to pray and seek God's will. It is said that he spent a week on the island surviving in a cave only on rain water. This caused him to have visions which he later described in his book "My relations with the church." "The day passed and the night came. the sea was at peace, the air very soft, the sky somewhat overcast by dense black clouds. . . the moonlight was very dim. And i saw in front of me, coming from afar, a shadow whose distance countenance I could not perceive; and it was coming closer to me. As it drew nearer I could make out what it was. The figure came alone, and was as white as the moonlight itself; and the figure represented a girl of 16 years, all white, all lovely, all amiable, At the moment she arrived the heavens opened and in the radiant sunlight I saw who it was that had before me . . . I was aggrieved that I couldn't see her with clarity I wished: a veil covered her face, but was transparent. . . she was silent and so was I, but a dumb voice was speaking and possessed words."
Playa de Barrika
Playa de BarrikaClose to Bilbao this beach has rocks perfectly shaped for composition everywhere! A photographer could spend all day running around here playing.
Punta de Sa Galera
Punta de Sa GaleraWELCOME to the real Ibiza! The island is not clubs and drugs but a exquisite explorers paradise for those willing to leave the tourist hot spots. Hiking the coast we often found ourselves tip toeing the edge of sea cliffs and encountering rustic hidden fisherman houses. Even in Winter flowers are blooming and the temps are perfect for the outdoors.
La Lonja
La LonjaGeorge Sand who was rarely impressed by anything Mallorquin wrote in her book "A Winter in Mallorca" (1838/1839). "La Lonja is the building that impressed me the most, with its elegant proportions and an originality that manages to include perfect symmetry and simplicity in very good taste." I had to go see this building that was approved by such a critical French woman.
